Our Client, a specialty contractor in barriers and markings is seeking to add a General Contracting Sales & Proposal Specialist to their team. This role will work a HYBRID schedule based in LaCrosse, WI and cover a 50mi radius of territory in WI and MN. The role will work standard and flexible hours M-F, 7am-5pm with more seasonal work in the summer – “work from home” - as needed, if in office work isn’t needed. Travel for this role is 30% in WI and MN for site visits (day travel only) . This is a full-time role that pays in the $70K-$80K range with a 10% discretionary bonus program AND a $1100 monthly vehicle allowance. This role also offers strong benefit package – Health, Dental and Vision covered at 80% - and a 401K plan that sees a 20% reinvestment in the employee.
The key to this role is experience in the commercial contracting arena with experience in the delivery of bids and proposals for commercial construction projects – Preferably an understanding of large fencing projects. The incumbent will:
- Turn blueprints into accurate bids – Parts, pieces and components of complex fencing layouts.
- Take ownership of territory – Lacrosse, WI – Rochester, MN - scheduling appointments, managing travel, and owning bid opportunities
- Visit commercial properties to scope out the scene—measuring, analyzing, and understanding the lay of the land for full scope of project work.
- Review plans and drawings to determine full costing picture
- Estimate materials, labor, and equipment
- Craft and submit proposals that win projects and impress clients
Qualifications
- 2 years experience in commercial contracting with experience estimating large scale construction projects.
- 1 years performing estimating work for construction projects.
- Experience with fence construction, sales, or any work related to fencing (highly preferred)
- Experience with Adobe Pro or Blue Beam Software – or any comparable estimating software.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Top-tier communication and negotiation skills
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
