We are seeking a dedicated, adaptable, and student-centered Physical Therapist (PT) for a part-time, PRN position serving a couple of schools in the Ware Shoals, SC area for 2 days a week. In this role, you will work closely with students, educators, and families to provide school-based physical therapy services.
Your mission will be to help students with physical challenges access their educational environments, maximize their participation in school activities, and achieve their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. ## Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluations & Assessments: Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations to determine students' functional capabilities, mobility needs, and barriers to educational access.
IEP Development: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary educational team (teachers, parents, administrators) to develop, review, and implement measurable Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
Direct Therapy: Provide high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy interventions to students, focusing on gross motor skills, balance, coordination, and functional mobility within the school setting.
Consultation & Collaboration: Train and collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents on strategies, assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and classroom modifications.
Documentation: Maintain timely, accurate, and legally compliant documentation, including evaluation reports, daily progress notes, IEP paperwork, and Medicaid billing (if applicable).
Travel: Travel between a couple of designated school sites within the Ware Shoals area to deliver services.
