General Job Description

Job Summary:

The Billing Specialist will gather data, calculate charges and fees, and create invoices for billing purposes.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Calculates costs for services.
  • Verifies accuracy of billing data, correcting any errors.
  • Creates itemized invoices, and other necessary billing documents, which may require calculation of discounts.
  • Performs general bookkeeping work, which may include entering data and maintaining records, invoices, and supporting documents of amounts due for services rendered.
  • Contacts customers to obtain, verify, and update account information when necessary.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

  • Ability to solve problems as they rise
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Must have time management skills, organizational skills, multitasking skills, and detailed oriented.
  • Be able to stay focused on tasks and able to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills including active listening and attentiveness.
  • Knowledge, willingness of, or ability to learn, product, service, or area of customer service specialization.


Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of billing or administrative experience required.
  • 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Previous experience in office preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
