What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant position at Edmonds Westgate Veterinary Hospital?
Are you an experienced Veterinary Assistant that enjoys a dynamic environment where you can utilize your skills in all different areas of the hospital? Edmonds-Westgate Veterinary Hospital might be a great fit for you! Our assistants play a crucial role in providing the best care to our patients and are a vital part of the team. Some of your responsibilities include: client education, setting up surgery and assisting with monitoring anesthesia, venipuncture, assisting with appoints and outpatient treatments.
This is a full- time position, with a flexible schedule and availability needed generally Monday - Friday, with rotating Saturday shifts.
Full-time benefits and compensation**:
- Compensation: $21-26 per hour, for each hour worked*
- Bonus package: $500 for those with 3 years of consecutive, current VA experience

Required qualifications and skillset:
- Ideally 2 years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting, although we are open to training the right person!
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Patient restraint (dogs and cats)
- SQ, IM and IV injections and vaccines
- Patient care for hospitalized patients
- Client communication and education
- Setting up surgery suite
