Position Profile:
As a Dental Technician specializing in metal casting and finishing, you will be responsible for fabricating high-quality metal substructures for crowns, bridges, and other dental restorations. Your expertise will ensure precise casting and meticulous finishing, contributing to restorations that meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of dental anatomy and metalworking techniques.

Job Duties and Accountabilities:
Dental Technician – Metal Cast & Finish:
- Perform metal casting for crowns, bridges, and frameworks using industry-standard alloys and techniques.
- Ensure castings meet precise specifications and resolve issues like porosity or voids.
- Operate and maintain casting equipment to lab standards.
- Trim, polish, and finish cast restorations to achieve proper fit, contours, and smoothness.
- Adjust margins, contacts, and occlusion to ensure restorations are functional and accurate.
- Prepare metal frameworks for porcelain application or other subsequent processes.
- Inspect castings and finished metalwork for defects and compliance with quality standards.
- Address and resolve any inconsistencies or challenges before finalizing the restorations.
- Work with various dental alloys, including high-noble, noble, and base metals, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Coordinate with other technicians in the crown and bridge department to ensure seamless workflows.
- Communicate effectively to resolve case-specific challenges.
- Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot casting machines, polishing tools, and related equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in working with dental alloys and precise casting techniques.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, and restorative principles.

Physical and Safety Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

- Ability to safely operate gas powered heating equipment and high-speed rotary tools.
