Job description:
The Member Services Attendant is a vital front‑facing representative of the Edgeworth Club, responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and polished first impression for members and guests. This role supports daily clubhouse operations by managing the front desk, coordinating communication across departments, assisting with reservations and event details, and ensuring members receive timely, accurate, and attentive service. The Attendant plays a key role in upholding the Club’s culture of hospitality, professionalism, and member‑focused excellence. This person must have open availability for shifts 5 out 7 days a week. Hours of operation are 8am to 11pm. Some weekends and holidays required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -Member & Guest Engagement
- Greet members and guests warmly in person and by phone, providing assistance and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Notify staff of visitor arrivals and ensure seamless communication between departments.
- Provide accurate information regarding dining options, suites, hours of operation, club rules, special events, and private parties.
- Assist members with requests such as directions, phone calls, holding packages, or retrieving items.
- Maintain a polished, organized, and welcoming front desk and lobby environment, with beverage services.
- Assist members and guests with coats and ensure common areas and coat closets remain tidy.
Administrative & Communication Support
- Check email and voicemail systems regularly, documenting reservations and communicating requests promptly.
- Update the daily lobby message board and ensure all posted information is accurate and current.
- Collect, post, and process outgoing mail; receive deliveries and notify appropriate departments.
- Prepare event details, typing assignments, and administrative materials as directed by the Director of Membership & Communications and AGM.
- Make confirmation calls for Club event reservations at least one week prior to each event.
- Complete daily shift notes to ensure smooth communication between AM and PM teams.
Operational Support
- Understand and convey essential knowledge of Club operations, including departmental SOPs, event details, and service expectations.
- Support the coordination of private events by confirming reservations, and communicating updates.
- Assist with general clubhouse organization and ensure the front‑of‑house environment reflects the Club’s standards of hospitality and professionalism.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook.
- Professional dress code, polished, and service‑centric demeanor.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and remain organized in a fast‑paced environment.
- Resourceful, proactive, and adaptable to changing needs.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to read, write, and apply correct grammar and spelling consistent with a high‑school education.
- Willingness to learn, grow, and adapt to evolving Club needs.
- Ability to adhere to all guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Ability to become fully proficient in the role within one month.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, stand, and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
- In‑person position requiring availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed.
