What are the responsibilities and job description for the Launch Operator position at Edgewood Yacht Club?
Edgewood Yacht Club is hiring Launch Drivers for the boating season from July- October 2026.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Please do not reply if you do not have boating license
- Vessel Operation: Safely captain a 17-26 ft launch, providing transport between marina docks and the mooring field.
- Safety & Compliance: Monitor radio communications (VHF), adhere to USCG regulations, and ensure passenger safety during boarding and transit.
- Customer Service: Provide polite, prompt service to yacht club members or marina guests.
- Line Handling: Assist with securing vessels to the dock upon arrival and departure.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the launch and maintain cleanliness of the dock area, bathrooms and trash.
Requirements
- Licensing: Launch Operator 6 pack license is required.
- Current First Aid/ CPR
- Experience: Previous experience operating small powerboats.
- Skills: Ability to work weekends and holidays; strong communication skills; and a customer-focused attitude.
- Shifts: available Thursdays from 1:45pm -Sunset, one shift on Saturday and one shift on Sunday
- Location: Providence/ Cranston RI
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-end, or casual, outdoor marine environment.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
