As a Health Unit Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our clinical schedule, ensuring seamless communication, efficient organization, and a supportive atmosphere for residents, families, and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain Clinical Employee Schedule
- Teach skill competency and clinical reasoning
- Demonstrate the concepts of good patient care
- Create a supportive and empowering learning environment
- Document employees’ progress through testing and observation
- Follow HIPAA and all other Edgewood policies
Resident Records & Compliance

Maintain accurate records of resident admissions, discharges, transfers, and deaths for state review.

Update resident information, including diagnosis, code status, and physician details, as required.

Ensure all records are complete, accurate, and compliant with regulations.

Monitor and follow up on standing orders per regulatory guidelines.

Protect medical record security and maintain confidentiality.
Documentation & Organization

Work with departments to provide and organize chart forms properly.

File correspondence and uphold regulatory filing requirements.

Remove outdated files as per guidelines.
Resident Relations & Support
- Assist residents in scheduling appointments and lab work.
- Support Coumadin Clinic Lab orders per guidelines.
- Maintain documentation such as lab orders, resident lists, and clinic referrals.
- Process orders and communicate urgent resident care needs to the RN.
Qualifications:
- Active MedTech certificate, required
- Minimum of two years clinical experience, required
- Experience in Assisted Living & Memory Care, Strongly desired
- Prior experience training & mentoring employees
- Passion and drive for helping others
- A desire to continue learning and improving your skillset
