Job Summary
The Operations Shift Supervisor (OSS) will be responsible for the startup and initial operations for all permanent plant equipment and systems from Commissioning completion until Substantial Completion and handover to the Customer.
The OSS will interact directly with Construction and CSU discipline leads to ensure the plant is ready for startup and that the startup strictly follows the approved procedures for the facility. The successful candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule as required by the project, including but not limited to split shift, nightshift, holidays, and/or weekends.

Job Summary

Major Responsibilities
- Operate local and control room panels as required.
- Generate appropriate operating reports.
- Experience performing electrical and mechanical system lineups for operation.
- Experience executing and providing input for daily briefings and Plan of the Day meetings.
- Work with plant operations reporting structures and guidelines.
- Perform plant walk throughs; observe plant conditions and parameters; document plant operating parameters on shift log sheets and logbooks.
- Apply personnel protective lockout tagout packages to ensure a safe work environment for operation and maintenance personnel.
- Participate in system operability walkdowns.
- Support the planning of operations activities to support efficient operation and maintenance.
- Operate equipment and systems in accordance with the process design requirements.
- Implement general plant safety procedures, including handling of hazardous substances, and use of the proper PPE.
- Identify plant environmental material handling procedures, prevent/mitigate unplanned releases, and respond to developing events to mitigate consequences.
- Write/enhance procedures for system start up and operation as needed.
- Ensure team is in strict adherence to published start up procedures and follows management of change for any deviations to procedures.
- Experience with problem identification and initiation of equipment repair documentation
- Experience with emergency response activities per plant programs and training (fire, medical, environmental)
- Isolate equipment in hazardous environments in case of an emergency.
- Identify deviations to normal operating situations and restore equipment/systems to design operation in accordance with commissioning and startup programs.
- Advanced knowledge of pertinent industry and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated experience with initial startup & shutdown trouble shooting
- Experience with initial equipment and system startup
- Experience with operation of pneumatic equipment and systems in accordance with design requirements, including operation from local control systems/panels.
- Knowledge and experience in the scopes of work inherent in operations and maintenance projects.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead team members and direct reports effectively & positively in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in high pressure situations.
- Experience as a Shift Supervisor, Senior Supervisor or Commissioning Manager.
- Understanding of applicable Client work processes, including Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs) and Standard Test & Commissioning Procedures (STCPs).
- Good working knowledge of Project Client Standard Applications (BSAPs), including TEAMWorks, Setroute, Unifier, Aconex, DSCS, PTR, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools which are used on Client projects.
- Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience managing technical services subcontracts.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections, including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces.
- Some lifting may be required.
- Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
- Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e., harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
