Responsible for providing modern telecommunications systems, for data, telephone, wireless, LAN, RF Microwave, and encryption capabilities.

Responsibilities
In this position, the candidate will provide low voltage telecommunications infrastructure designs that meet industry standards, local & national codes and client design specification requirements.
- Designs will include all aspects of the information communications technology (ICT) infrastructure to include Outside Plant, Inside Plant, Horizontal Cabling and Telecommunications Spaces
- Includes meeting with end users/customers to define Scopes of Work, preliminary design for approval, final design, coordination with Facilities team
- Coordination of approved telecommunications contractors and follow up with customers.
- BA in Computer Science (or related field) plus 5 years of job-related experience
- In lieu of a degree, 11 years of job-related experience is applicable.
- Active DOE Q Clearance
- Must be US Citizen
- Well versed in NEC Codes regarding Telecommunications, BICSI Industry Best Practices, EIA/TIA Standards and IEEE Standards.
- Demonstrated experience designing fiber and copper cabling network infrastructures, an in- depth knowledge of telecommunications industry standards (American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)/Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA)), and BICSI recommended practices.
- Experience designing outside plant cable infrastructure systems and extensive experience designing structured cabling systems in local area networks in campus type environments is preferred.
- Expertise with developing specifications and drawings associated with construction projects.
- Foster an excellent relationship with both the Customer and team members.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and initiate activities while remaining flexible to changing priorities.
- Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite experience.
- Experience with telecommunications testing equipment and tools.
