About the Role
Edgestone is seeking an experienced Extrusion Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate large-scale extrusion equipment in a commercial or medical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with melt extrusion and a solid understanding of ISO13485 or similar quality systems.
This is a technical, hands-on position where you’ll be setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining extrusion machines. You’ll also document production, manage raw materials, and mentor team members in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, run, and adjust extrusion machinery per specialized standards
- Operate and troubleshoot large-scale manufacturing equipment
- Conduct in-process quality checks using tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, vision systems, and laser micrometers
- Complete accurate production documentation in compliance with GMP and ISO13485
- Manage raw materials and track production throughout lots
- Perform machine cleanouts, resets, changeovers, and cleanups
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Mentor and train other team members on processes and procedures
- Ensure safety, quality, and efficiency goals are consistently met
- Adhere to all applicable health, safety, and environmental policies
Preferred Experience & Skills
- 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment (extrusion preferred)
- Background in melt extrusion (medical or industrial)
- Knowledge of GMP, ISO9001/13485 standards
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to read and use precision measuring instruments
- Basic math skills, including working with decimals and fractions
- Effective communication (verbal and written)
- Flexibility with manufacturing schedules
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical High School or Associate's Degree in a STEM field preferred
