Position: Registered Nurse
Shift Open: 7:00PM to 7:00AM or 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Must work every other weekend
Contract: 6 weeks (potential to extend)
Hourly Rate: $60-$62
Edgestone Staffing is seeking a Team of dedicated Contract Registered Nurses to join our dynamic healthcare team, providing exceptional patient care within a Long Term Care Rehab Hospital.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your extensive nursing expertise in a flexible, contract-based environment. As a Contract Registered Nurse, you will deliver high-quality care, coordinate patient assessments, and support treatment plans. Your expertise will help ensure optimal patient outcomes and uphold the highest standards of nursing practice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic and Cerner.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques, including IV infusions and medication administration.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, and ostomy care with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage acute pain and provide critical care support in high-pressure environments like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers, including ventilator management and airway support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients across settings such as geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, or hospice & palliative medicine.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, sonography, and basic medical imaging procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and ICD coding standards (ICD-9/ICD-10).
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of Massachusetts with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, or post-acute care settings.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute care and chronic disease management.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient records management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education on health coaching topics such as nutrition or medication adherence.
