Duties

• Safely operate tractor-trailers, including flatbed, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts while adhering to safety protocols for hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
• Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, planning deliveries to meet deadlines while optimizing fuel consumption and route logistics.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure mechanical safety, proper functioning of brakes, lights, tires, and securing cargo properly.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance documentation following FMCSA regulations.
• Handle various types of cargo including refrigerated goods, freight requiring manual handling, or specialized loads like tanker or flatbed shipments.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during routes.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record.
• Hoisting license a plus
• Know how to use a Moffett
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and freight delivery.
• Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently.
• Experience with different truck types such as flatbed, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is preferred.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety procedures for dangerous goods.
• Skilled in truck driving techniques including manual handling of cargo and load securement.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections diligently and maintain compliance logs accurately.

Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour
