Furniture Engineer Assistant (Entry-Level)Position Summary
Edgecombe Furniture is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Product Development team as a Furniture Engineer Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in furniture design, engineering, manufacturing, or product development. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.The Furniture Engineer Assistant will support the development of upholstered furniture products by assisting with drawings, product specifications, prototypes, and production documentation.Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and updating product drawings and specifications.
- Support the development of furniture frames, components, and upholstered products.
- Learn to create 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
- Assist with Bills of Materials (BOMs), cut lists, and product documentation.
- Help evaluate prototypes and identify opportunities for product improvements.
- Work closely with Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams.
- Assist with gathering measurements, product data, and material information.
- Help maintain organized product records and engineering files.
- Participate in problem-solving efforts related to manufacturing and product quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support product development initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree, technical training, or coursework in Engineering, Drafting, CAD, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software.
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in furniture, manufacturing, or product design.
- Ability to read measurements and work with basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar programs.
- Familiarity with manufacturing or woodworking environments.
- Basic understanding of furniture construction or assembly processes.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

For Greenville, NC, I would expect an entry-level range of approximately $20-$24/hour ($41,600-$52,000annually) depending on education, CAD experience, and manufacturing background.
