Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter to join our construction and renovation team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects, with expertise in surface preparation, finishing techniques, and the use of various hand and power tools. As a Painter, you will be responsible for transforming spaces through precise application of paint, coatings, and finishes while adhering to safety standards and project specifications. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that enhance the aesthetic and functional qualities of buildings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and repairing walls or structures to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paint, stains, primers, and coatings using brushes, rollers, airless spray equipment, or other tools with precision and attention to detail.
- Read blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings to determine project scope and specifications for residential, commercial, or industrial spaces.
- Perform finishing tasks such as trim carpentry, fixture installation, restoration work, and masonry touch-ups to achieve high-quality results.
- Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project requirements accurately and manage time effectively on-site.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following proper procedures for working at heights, handling hazardous materials like stucco or welding residues, and operating power tools responsibly.
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters or masons during remodeling or renovation projects to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct site cleanup and ensure all work areas meet safety and quality standards before project completion.
Experience
- Proven experience in residential painting as well as commercial or industrial painting projects across construction sites.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and reading technical schematics or blueprints.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, and scaffolding setup.
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques including plastering, caulking, stucco application, concrete finishing, and masonry work.
- Background in renovation projects involving restoration work or remodeling efforts that require detailed craftsmanship.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to paint coverage and material quantities.
