The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is instrumental in implementing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department to maintain standards of residents’ care. Directs the activities of licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel who provide healthcare and nursing service to the residents 24-hour, 7 day per week.
Prior Supervisory Experience Preferred.
Will have responsibilities in staff development & educations, infection control, and wound care management. Weekend call rotation will be a part of the responsibilities.

- This position develops and implements nursing services, objectives, and policies and procedures in accordance with Federal and State regulations as well as local standards and guidelines.
- Designs, implements, and evaluates nursing systems that ensure consistent delivery of care and maintains and promotes resident rights.
- Conducts nursing rounds on all units several times per day, including the beginning and end of shift.
- Ensures that residents are free from abuse, mistreatment, and neglect.
- Participates as a member of the facility’s interdisciplinary management team in planning, policy formation and administrative decision-making, with particular emphasis on the facility’s nursing services.
- Have a shared vision of providing excellent care to our residents.
- Work with the DON to continually develop the nursing personnel, leading by example; and supporting your nursing department staff with a hands-on approach - thereby creating a positive team atmosphere.
- Have a commitment to the residents, families, employees, physicians, hospitals and the surrounding community.
Education And/or Experience
- Licensed with current Pennsylvania licensure required.
- Degree from accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program.
- 3 years of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting, preferred.
- Experience with applicable state Survey Rules & Regulations, Medicare and Medicaid.
- Ability to use desktop/notebook computers, Microsoft Office products, and various medical equipment required.
- Prior experience with PCC (Point Click Care) a PLUS!
