Job Description:
Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our plastic surgery office team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional preoperative and postoperative care to patients undergoing facelift procedures. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Preoperative and Postoperative Care:
- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments, including patient history review, vital signs monitoring, and preparation for surgery.
- Provide comprehensive postoperative care to patients in the recovery room (PACU), monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and monitoring for any signs of complications during the postoperative period.
- Perform the removal of surgical drains as directed by the surgeon, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
- Booking Sheets and Surgical Charts and Logs:
- Prepare and maintain booking sheets and surgical charts on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness for upcoming patient procedures.
- Communicate with Complaince team to meet standars for inspections monthly or every 3 months.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are stocked at the minimum required levels on a daily and weekly basis.
- Coordinate with the administrative staff to place orders for replenishment as needed.
- Patient Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with patients following surgery, providing guidance, answering questions, and addressing any concerns during the initial 7-day postoperative period
- Intravenous (IV) Therapy:
- Insert and manage intravenous (IV) lines in postoperative patients as necessary for IV treatment and medication administration.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in perioperative nursing, preferably in a surgical or outpatient setting.
- FRESH GRADUATES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
