Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize our end-to-end supply chain processes for industrial equipment, including sourcing, procurement, logistics, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sourcing and buying heavy industrial components, managing domestic and international shipping, and ensuring cost-effective, timely delivery of materials to support our manufacturing and customer commitments. This role will play a critical part in supporting EDDY Pump’s growth and operational efficiency in delivering cutting-edge pump and dredging solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing and Procurement:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for raw materials, components, and services for industrial pumps, dredging equipment, and related machinery (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu components).
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and lead times with domestic and international suppliers to achieve cost efficiency and quality standards.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, evaluating and developing vendors to ensure reliability and compliance with EDDY Pump’s specifications.
- Logistics and Shipping:
- Manage domestic and international logistics, including coordination with freight forwarders, customs departments, and carriers to ensure timely delivery of heavy equipment and components.
- Oversee import/export processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and accurate documentation for shipments.
- Optimize transportation strategies to minimize costs and lead times while maintaining supply chain integrity.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to balance adequate supply with minimal excess, supporting production schedules and customer delivery timelines.
- Utilize ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, or NetSuite) to track procurement, logistics, and inventory data, generating reports to analyze supply chain performance.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve delivery metrics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, production, sales, and leadership teams to align supply chain activities with project requirements and customer needs.
- Lead meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders, providing actionable insights and managing action items to drive supply chain success.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, including environmental, safety, and industry-specific requirements (e.g., ISO, DOT, EPA).
- Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning, supplier diversification, and contingency strategies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in supplySf chain management, with at least 3–5 years in sourcing, procurement, and logistics for industrial equipment or manufacturing industries (e.g., pumps, heavy machinery, dredging equipment, or similar).
- Proven experience managing domestic and international shipping, including import/export processes and coordination with freight forwarders.
- Strong background in sourcing and buying mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic components for heavy industrial equipment (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, or similar).
- Skills and Competencies:
- Expertise in ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, or NetSuite preferred) for procurement, inventory, and logistics management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct cost analysis and supplier evaluations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and supply chain software for data analysis and reporting.
- Additional Requirements:
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks occasionally, such as inspecting heavy equipment components.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (10–20% travel).
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus, given operations in Tijuana, Mexico.
