Job Summary
The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and planning the supply of materials and components for EDDY Pump’s industrial equipment, including pumps and dredging systems. This role requires expertise in sourcing and buying industrial parts, managing domestic and international shipping, and coordinating with suppliers to meet production schedules. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing and Procurement:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for industrial components (e.g., mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical parts for pumps and heavy machinery like Caterpillar or Komatsu equipment).
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with domestic and international suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and lead times.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with EDDY Pump’s quality and delivery standards.
- Material Planning:
- Develop and maintain material plans to support production schedules, ensuring timely availability of components for manufacturing and assembly.
- Analyze demand forecasts, production requirements, and inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to align material availability with project timelines.
- Logistics and Shipping Coordination:
- Coordinate domestic and international shipping of industrial components, working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including accurate documentation for international shipments.
- Track shipments and resolve logistics issues to maintain supply chain continuity.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels using ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, or NetSuite) to balance supply with production needs.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize ERP tools and Excel to generate reports on procurement, inventory, and supplier performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain optimization through data-driven insights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with supply chain, production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure material specifications and delivery schedules meet project requirements.
- Participate in supplier meetings and internal planning sessions to align on priorities and resolve issues.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in buying, planning, or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment for industrial equipment (e.g., pumps, heavy machinery, or dredging systems).
- Hands-on experience sourcing and purchasing mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical components for industrial applications.
- Proven ability to manage domestic and international shipping, including import/export processes and logistics coordination.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, or NetSuite preferred) for procurement, inventory, and planning tasks.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills to secure favorable terms and build supplier relationships.
- Analytical mindset with expertise in Excel for cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
