The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is a key member of the EDCOAT Operations team. This full-time exempt position is based in New Carlisle, Indiana. This is a 1st shift position with normal working hours of Monday – Friday, 8 am-4:30pm. The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the shipping and receiving department, ensuring efficient processes, accurate inventory management, and timely delivery of goods. This role involves managing a team, maintaining safety standards, and collaborating with other departments to enhance logistics performance.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise Daily Operations:



  • Oversee all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate the workflow of the shipping and receiving team to optimize efficiency.


 Team Management:



  • Lead, train, and mentor team members to improve performance and skills.



  • Provide feedback, report performance records, and evaluations to HR and senior management


Inventory Management:



  • Planning and coordinating inventory cycle counting

  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies.

  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate record-keeping.

  • Customer inventory management


Shipping & Receiving Processes:



  • Ensure timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Prepares receiving tags and bills of lading. 

  • Verify and inspect shipments for accuracy and quality.


Collaboration:



  • Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments.


Safety and Compliance:



  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.


Reporting:



  • Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving reports.

  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Education:




    • A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent



Experience:




    • 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.



Skills:




    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

    • Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus.

    • Knowledge of shipping regulations and logistics best practices.





Physical Requirements: The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.




    • Fast-paced warehouse setting with potential exposure to various weather conditions.

    • Ability to lift and move heavy items 50 as needed.

    • Ability to stand and walk long distances within the warehouse environment.

    • Occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms. 

    • Operate cane and forklift operation certified by EDCOAT.
