ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Wilmington team and advance in a dynamic work environment. The Field Technician performs field observations and begins conducting routine testing of construction materials under direct supervision. This role is primarily field-based and supports project execution by collecting data, documenting site conditions, and assisting with testing activities. The Field Technician develops foundational technical skills and familiarity with construction practices while maintaining a positive customer service attitude and demonstrating ECS Core Values.
Responsibilities
- Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision
- Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites
- Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
- Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors
- Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports
- Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results
- Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment
- Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment
- Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested
- Performs other field and project support duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 0 years of related experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Obtain basic certifications applicable to the work performed as per the ECS Technician Certification Policy
- If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
- Good communication skills (verbal, written, and reading comprehension)
- Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented work ethic
- Very limited to no knowledge of CMT principles and testing standards
- Basic math skills and data entry ability
- Ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret plans (developing)
- Basic proficiency with electronic devices (tablets, phones, laptops)
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors, peers, and clients
- Ability to lift equipment and materials regularly (up to ~85 lbs)
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies
