K-12 Texas Curriculum Review Expert

ECS Learning Systems is looking for experienced curriculum reviewers with immediate availability for the review of existing classroom materials for Grades K–12. Areas of greatest need are K–5 RLA, K–5 Math, and Grades 6–12 Math.

Responsibilities:

• Comprehensively review an entire set of PreK, RLA (Reading Language Arts), Math, Science, or Social Studies curriculum in English and/or Spanish
• Complete a review rubric indicating which criteria are met or not met
• Annotate the content with edits necessary to make the content in compliance with the rubric criteria
• Review the content for alignment against state educational standards
• Review the content for age-appropriateness and sensitivity issues
• Cross-check teacher materials and student materials to ensure consistency and accuracy

Qualifications:

• Current or previous K-12 classroom instruction experience in Math, Science, RLA, and/or Social Studies in Texas (Required)
• At least 3 years of experience as a curriculum developer or instructional designer
• Experience as a copy editor or proofer
• Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
• Knowledge of human growth and development
• Lesson and curriculum planning skills
• Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, and assessment items
• Ability to deliver succinct, actionable, and professional feedback
• Familiarity with educational standards and standards-based instruction
• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Excel and Word)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively individually and with a team
• Able to meet tight timelines
• Digital experience is preferred, but not required

Compensation and Hours:

• This is a contractor position, which will include compensation based on deliverables.
• Deliverable pricing is estimated based on an expected compensation rate of $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
• The expected number of hours per week ranges from 15–40.
• Project lengths vary.
