Position Summary:
The Thermal Engineer will be responsible for the design, simulation, analysis, and validation of thermal management of packages and system across wide range of electronics products. This role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative liquid, air-cooled, and natural convection solutions that optimize performance, reliability, cost, and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thermal modeling and simulations using tools that include FloTHERM, IcePak to predict and optimize package and system performance.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and system engineers to ensure integrated design optimization.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage with clients, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to ensure thermal designs meet production and cost objectives.
- Stay current on emerging technologies in package design, liquid cooling, materials, and energy efficiency trends.
Qualifications:
Education:
- PhD or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Sciences, Heat Transfer, or related discipline.
Experience:
- 5 years or more of relevant experience in thermal analysis related to package and system design.
- Proven expertise in thermal simulation tools, ANSYS Icepak and Siemens FloTHERM.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and fluid dynamics.
- Experience with thermal measurement methods is desired (e.g., thermocouples, infrared imaging).
- Some familiarity with CAD software programs such as SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of liquid cooling liquid loops that include cold plates, pumps, and manifolds, is desirable.
