FLEET TECHNICIAN

Heavy Haul & Specialized Rigging

When the fleet stops, the operation stops. That's why great technicians matter.

At Edwards Moving & Rigging, our equipment doesn't spend its life making easy trips around town.

Our trucks, trailers, and specialized equipment support heavy haul and rigging projects across the country. They work hard. They carry serious loads. And when a piece of equipment needs attention, we need technicians who know how to figure out what's wrong and get it back to work.

We are looking for an experienced Fleet Technician who would rather solve a problem than simply replace a part.

If you know your way around diesel equipment, aren't afraid of diagnostics, take pride in keeping equipment running, and like having the independence to do your job, you may fit right in.

What You'll Work On

One of the best parts of this job is variety.

As a Fleet Technician at Edwards, you will maintain and repair:

· Heavy trucks

· Trailers

· Fleet vehicles

· Powered rolling equipment

· Gas and diesel engines

· Electrical systems

· Braking systems

· Other equipment supporting our heavy haul and rigging operations

Translation: you probably won't spend every day fixing the same thing.

What You'll Do

Your job is straightforward in principle:

Find the problem. Fix it correctly. Keep the fleet moving.

That includes:

· Performing preventive maintenance, tune-ups, brake work, and scheduled repairs.

· Diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems.

· Using computer-based diagnostic systems and modern truck interfaces.

· Disassembling, repairing, and reassembling components as necessary.

· Removing and installing heavy components using jacks, chain falls, cranes, and hoists.

· Inspecting trucks, trailers, and equipment to identify problems before they become bigger ones.

· Maintaining required vehicle and maintenance records.

· Helping ensure fleet equipment meets applicable DOT requirements.

· Maintaining shop tools and equipment in safe, usable condition.

· Working safely and taking pride in leaving equipment ready for the people who depend on it.

What We're Looking For

We don't need someone who knows how to change parts. We need someone who knows how to troubleshoot.

The right technician brings:

· Strong mechanical knowledge of machines, tools, maintenance, and repair.

· Previous experience repairing trucks, trailers, fleet equipment, or similar machinery.

· The ability to diagnose equipment failures and determine the appropriate corrective action.

· Comfort using computer-based diagnostic equipment.

· The ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

· A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

· A high school diploma or GED.

· DOT inspection training is preferred.

· The physical ability to perform hands-on mechanical work, including routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.

· Willingness to travel occasionally, approximately 5% of the time.

You'll need your own basic hand tools. Edwards provides the diagnostic, ergonomic, and specialized high-tech equipment needed to do the job.

Why Edwards?

Because good technicians deserve more than an endless line of identical repairs.

At Edwards, you're supporting a heavy haul and specialized rigging operation where equipment matters. The truck or trailer you're repairing today may be headed to a major project tomorrow.

That means your work has a direct impact on whether our people have the equipment they need, when they need it.

At Edwards, you can expect:

· Variety. Work across trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles, and specialized equipment.

· Independence. Experienced technicians are trusted to diagnose problems and determine what needs to be done.

· Modern diagnostics. Edwards provides the diagnostic and high-tech equipment necessary to work on today's fleet.

· Tool support. We provide an annual tool allowance to help you maintain the tools of your trade.

· Guaranteed overtime. If you want the opportunity to earn beyond your regular schedule, the work is here.

· Flexible hours. We understand that experienced technicians value some flexibility.

· Work that matters. The equipment you maintain directly supports our field operations and our customers.

· A strong benefits package. Eligible employees have access to health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with company matching, paid time off, and other benefits.

What Does the Job Pay?

We believe experienced technicians should be compensated for what they know and what they can do.

Annual Pay: $52,000 – $73,000, based on experience

Plus the opportunity for guaranteed overtime.

Still Turning Wrenches?

Good. So are we.

We're looking for someone who enjoys figuring out why something isn't working, knows the satisfaction of getting a difficult repair right, and understands that preventive maintenance today can prevent a much bigger problem tomorrow.

If you'd rather diagnose than guess, repair than replace, and work on equipment that actually gets put to the test, we'd like to meet you.

Keep the equipment ready. Keep the crews working. Keep Edwards moving. Home - Home - Edwards Moving & Rigging
