We are currently looking for a Line Operator in our Lancaster, PA facility. Help us to rid the world of rubber waste by working in our Mixing, Filling, and weighing operations.

Salary range - $17 to $18 an hour

Job Summary

This position is responsible for weighing, mixing and filling molds with raw materials per specification to produce into tile form. This position will also check finished product for defects and gauge product for correct thickness and measurements. Additional responsibilities will include: cross-training into other job functions to assist with production, assistance with creating SOP and other production related documentation, prepping molds for various jobs, inventory data entry, routine participation in safety meetings and performing basic preventative maintenance.

Operate press machine to produce material into tile form by:

• Conduct a visual inspection and perform general preventive maintenance of the press and mixer at beginning of shift
• Set computer for raw materials per specific formulas
• Pour material from mixers into pans and weigh out each pan into equal weights, then dump into molds
• Rake material evenly into molds and apply top skin (if skin is needed)
• Remove finished product from molds
• Trim squeeze out on product edges with trimmer, prep supplies for job
• Stack on pallets based on quality standards and properly tag pallet with inventory tag
• Clean the pounding trowels, rakes, mixers, presses, and general area at end of shift

Maintain clean work environment by wiping down press machine and mixer and cleaning work area with air hose after each batch; maintain machine by performing preventive maintenance as specified by machine and report any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance department.

Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines. Continually check product for quality throughout the manufacturing process by visually checking for defects, checking dowel holes with tool, gauging for proper size and delaminating.

Utilize computer at workstation to login, enter/review production data and work orders as required. Print manufacturing receipt for product produced.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• High School Diploma/GED or 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience required
• English fluency (read, write, speak)
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
• Read and understand units of measure
• Ability to perform basic math functions
• Demonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred
• Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
• Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
• Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role

• Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment). The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.
