Economy Transportation and Logistics is hiring an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to service and maintain our fleet of Class A commercial diesel vehicles, trailers, and equipment. This role is critical to keeping our operations safe, compliant, and running efficiently. We operate a diverse fleet including tankers, ISO containers, flatbeds, and dry vans.
Work Environment
Primary Facility: Houston, TX
Fleet supports regional operations: Occassional travel to neighboring regions required
We follow the work wherever it goes.
Equipment Serviced
Class A diesel tractors (sleeper trucks)
Tanker, ISO container, flatbed, and dry van trailers
- Offload Pumps and ancillary equipment
10, 13, and 18-speed manual transmission equipment
DOT-regulated commercial vehicles
ScheduleEmployment Type
Full-time, W2 position
Weekly pay via direct deposit
On-site shop with field support as needed

Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Class A diesel trucks and trailers
Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and air systems
Ensure equipment meets DOT and safety compliance standards
Complete accurate maintenance records and inspections
Perform roadside or field repairs as needed
Work closely with operations and dispatch to minimize downtime
Minimum Requirements
5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic working on Class A commercial vehicles
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and trailer systems
Experience with 10, 13, and 18-speed manual transmissions
Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
Familiarity with DOT inspection and compliance standards
Valid driver's license
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
CDL Class A
Experience with oilfield equipment
Tanker and ISO container trailer experience
Welding or fabrication experience
