Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Hotel Maintenance Staff Member to help maintain our guest rooms, public areas, exterior spaces, and hotel equipment. This position is responsible for completing routine repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and guest maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to troubleshoot common issues involving plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, appliances, painting, and general property upkeep. Maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our guests and employees is the top priority.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
- Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
- Troubleshoot and repair common plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, and mechanical issues.
- Maintain and repair guest-room fixtures, locks, doors, furniture, lighting, toilets, sinks, faucets, and other equipment.
- Complete drywall repairs, painting, caulking, minor carpentry, and other general property improvements.
- Inspect and maintain public areas, hallways, laundry facilities, exterior areas, and hotel equipment.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on guest-room HVAC units and replace or clean filters as needed.
- Identify safety hazards, water leaks, equipment failures, and other concerns, and report major issues to management immediately.
- Keep maintenance tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas clean, organized, and secure.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and completed work orders.
- Follow all hotel safety procedures, brand standards, and applicable regulations.
- Assist with emergency maintenance issues and other property-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous hotel, apartment, residential, or commercial maintenance experience is preferred.
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, HVAC systems, painting, drywall repair, carpentry, and appliance maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete basic repairs safely and efficiently.
- Ability to use common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining hotel cleanliness and appearance.
- Good communication and customer-service skills when interacting with guests and coworkers.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond to urgent maintenance requests.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb ladders, and remain active throughout the shift.
- Flexible availability, including possible weekends, holidays, and emergency calls, may be required.
- Relevant maintenance certifications are helpful but not required.
