A Chemical Plant Operator must have a thorough understanding of chemical processes and mechanical systems. This role involves being a key member of the production team, with responsibilities that may include retrieving, weighing, and mixing chemical ingredients, overseeing equipment during production, troubleshooting and repairing machinery, documenting equipment and compound details, and contributing to process and product improvements. The operator is expected to comply with all company, local, state, and federal safety and quality standards, promptly reporting any concerns, violations, or accidents.

To succeed as a Chemical Plant Operator, candidates should demonstrate professionalism, a strong grasp of chemical and mechanical processes, and a collaborative attitude. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and eager to work with the production team to refine processes and enhance product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Storing, retrieving, mixing, and monitoring chemicals used in production.
  • Recording and entering data such as ingredient measurements, weights, and temperatures into databases.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues with production equipment and processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety and quality regulations at the company, local, state, and federal levels.
  • Reporting accidents, safety violations, or other concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assisting in the planning and improvement of production processes and product quality.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure the production process runs smoothly.
  • Meeting the physical demands of the role, including walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, climbing, crouching, operating tools, and wearing protective gear.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; additional education or experience in a related field may be required.
  • Experience operating forklifts may be preferred or necessary.
  • Strong understanding of chemical processes and mechanical systems.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A team-oriented mindset with a focus on improving processes and product quality in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Commitment to following safety and quality protocols, including wearing protective equipment as needed.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Willingness to perform other assigned duties as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
