Summary: The Lab Technician will perform laboratory tests, analyze results, and support scientific investigations. This role plays a critical part in supporting scientific research and quality control efforts. The Lab Technician is responsible for preparing test materials, operating and maintaining lab equipment, recording and reporting data, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to scientific advancements, quality assurance processes, and product development.
Essential Duties of Position:
- Prepare samples, solutions, and reagents for analysis
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- Record and interpret data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality control standards
- Follow and create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Assist in research, development, and validation of new testing methods
- Dispose of hazardous materials following safety and environmental regulations
- Maintain inventory and order laboratory supplies as needed
- Prepare solutions, standards, and reagents to conduct analysis
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently using various laboratory techniques
- Perform routine laboratory testing tasks using standard laboratory equipment such as balances, pipettes, pH meters, UV/Visible spectrophotometer, etc.
- Maintain accurate and complete records, including logbooks
- Compile and analyze data to determine the operating efficiency of the instruments/equipment and diagnose and repair any malfunctions
- Enter or upload results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Utilize good laboratory practice
- Other duties assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:
- Strong foundation in laboratory techniques

- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field (required)
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience working in a laboratory setting (required)
- Previous laboratory experience working with oil and water (preferred)
- Proficiency in using lab software for data entry and reporting
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality assurance procedures
