I. Position Description
The purpose of this position is to provide entry-level, cross-functional support to the RMP Metal Buying, Commercial Accounts, and Transportation teams within Ecobat's North America Commercial function, while developing the skills and market knowledge needed to advance. This is a structured developmental position: the incumbent will rotate through both disciplines over an approximate 12–24 month period, building competency in procurement, logistics, customer service, and supplier/carrier relationship management. This position reports to the Director of North America Commercial and performs the following duties.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Rotational Development
- Rotate through structured assignments supporting both the MetalsBuying,Transportation, and Customer Accountfunctions, with exposure to procurement cycles, carrier negotiations,customer order fulfillment, plant operations,and cross-team planning meetings.
- Shadow the Metal Buyers,Transportation Coordinators, and Commercial Account Analystson supplier/carrier calls, negotiations, andplantsite visits to build practical, hands-on knowledgeof the business.Serve as afill infor these functions when existing teammembersare out of the officeon leave.
Metal Buying Support
- Assistin tracking spent battery and scrap lead purchase volumes against facility production targets.
- Monitorpublished market indexes and compile pricing dataagainstEcobat’sown purchasingdata to compare prior purchase decisions and inform futurepricing fornegotiations.
- Support supplier onboarding throughExigercompliance software andmaintainaccuraterecords in ZOHO.
- Assist with SAP data entryand extraction to review historical performance and prepare to reportto management to aid in regular performance reviews and departmental meetings.
Transportation Support
- Assistin scheduling and tracking inbound/outbound shipments of spent batteries,refined lead, andother materials as needed.
- Helpmonitordock performance toaid in evaluation of carrier detentions and efficient dockperformance. Escalatingdelays or issues to the Transportation Coordinator.
- Support freight invoice review and basic reconciliation against negotiated rates.
- Aid inmaintainingtransportation records in SAP/TMS andassistwith carrier compliance documentation.
Customer Account Management
- Assistin scheduling and tracking outbound shipments offinished goods (Lead, Plastic, Salt).
- Work withproductionteam to ensure customer orders arebeing producedahead of required deliveries.
- Track andmonitordaily, weekly, monthlyperformance toensureOn TimeDelvierytargets are met.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Attend Sales & Operations Planning meetings to learn how monthly volume targets are set and translated into buying and freight decisions.
- Act as a liaison between the functionsandday-to-day coordination items, escalating substantive issues to the Metal Buyer or Transportation Coordinator.
- Provide general administrative and analytical support to both roles as workload requires.
III. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain,logistics, or related fieldrequired.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience; internship or co-op experience in procurement,logistics, or scrap/recycling industries a plus.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in metal buying or transportation/logisticswithin a commodity or industrial environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with willingness to build relationships with suppliers and carriers under supervision.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data trackers, spreadsheets, and ERP systems (SAPpreferred, butnotrequiredat entry).
- Ability to coordinate and communicate across functional and departmental lines.
- Comfortable with ambiguity andeagerto learn in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Highly organized, with strong time management skills to manage rotational assignments across two functions.
- Ability to travel occasionally for training, site visits, or business purposes.

V. Physical Requirements & Work Environment
