General Description of Position:
The role is a senior leadership position overseeing the Mechanical Engineering Department within Building Services. The Mechanical Engineering Manager leads HVAC, plumbing, ventilation, energy-efficiency, and building-systems projects across the commercial, institutional, industrial, municipal, residential, and infrastructure sectors. This role is based in our corporate office in beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida. The work environment is an on-site, full-time position with a salary range of $ 130,000 to $160,000, including annual bonuses.
.Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical leadership and oversight for mechanical engineering design and construction activities.
- Managing department staffing, workloads, schedules, budgets, and project delivery.
- Ensuring quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) for drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing engineers, designers, and CADD/BIM staff.
- Supporting project managers, client relationships, proposals, and business development efforts.
- Assisting with construction administration, field coordination, RFIs, site visits, and commissioning.
- Maintaining engineering standards, workflows, templates, and code compliance.
The position requires a strong technical and managerial background, including expertise in HVAC and plumbing systems, building codes, energy efficiency, construction documentation, and engineering software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- PE license required or strongly preferred (Florida PE preferred).
- 8–10 years of MEP consulting or related mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and large-scale projects.
- Strong communication, project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
