Job description:
The Campground Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the campground grounds, buildings, and facilities. This role includes a variety of outdoor tasks, physical labor, basic maintenance repairs, and guest assistance to ensure a positive experience for all campers.

Key Responsibilities:
Grounds Maintenance:
Mow grass, trim trees and bushes, weed flower beds, and maintain landscaping.
Collect and dispose of trash from campground areas, restrooms, and common spaces.
Maintain cleanliness of roads, campsites, picnic areas, and playgrounds.
Facility Maintenance:
Perform basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, and light electrical work (such as changing light fixtures, outlets, switches, or troubleshooting minor electrical issues).
Report any larger maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
Site Preparation:
Clean fire pits, level sites if necessary, and ensure each campsite is ready for incoming guests.
Deliver firewood or other supplies to guests when requested.
Wood Cutting and Splitting:
Safely operate chainsaws, log splitters, and other equipment used for cutting and splitting firewood.
Stack and store firewood in designated areas.
Monitor firewood inventory and notify the supervisor when stock is low.
Always follow campground safety procedures when operating equipment.
General Safety and Guest Assistance:
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Politely assist guests with minor maintenance needs or direct them to the office for further help.
Monitor campground grounds and facilities for safety hazards and address or report them immediately.
Seasonal Responsibilities:
Assist with opening and closing duties for the campground season (e.g., winterizing water lines, general cleanup, etc.).
Help with the setup and takedown of recreational equipment, special event areas, or seasonal decor.

Requirements:
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and maintenance techniques (training provided if needed).
Experience or comfort with using zero turn mowers, chainsaws, log splitters, tractors and basic hand and power tools.
Basic knowledge of light electrical work (changing fixtures, outlets, switches, etc.).
Good communication skills and a positive attitude when dealing with guests and coworkers.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous maintenance, groundskeeping, concrete finishing, landscaping, or light electrical experience
Experience with zero turn mowers, chainsaws, log splitters, tractors and basic hand and power tools.
Valid driver’s license (if required for campground vehicles or equipment).

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
