What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Mower position at Maintenance Department?
Reports to: Director of Buildings and Grounds
General Summary: To assist in the implementation of a Preventive Maintenance Program and to fulfill daily maintenance requirements at school facilities, thereby enabling all students to have full educational use of them.
Essential Functions:
- Mows lawn at assigned facilities, trims and edges as directed by the Director of Buildings and Grounds
- Performs required equipment maintenance as scheduled
- Performs general grounds keeping tasks as assigned
- Removes trash in the area before mowing
- Treats equipment with care; raises mower on sharp turns
- Remains on tractor at all times when mower engine is running; does not operate equipment in immediate area when students are present; exercises safety precautions at all times
- Cleans mowing unit daily after use
- Immediately reports to supervisor any damage to school property
- Reports any needed repairs/service to mowing equipment to supervisor
- Performs other reasonably-related duties as may be assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- Excellent work record
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Proven ability to work well with others as part of a team
Length of Contract: Summer schedule
