Ebenezer is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant for our newest Skilled Nursing Community (TCU/LTC) in St. Paul, Minnesota! This role assists with implementation of quality lisure/social events programs designed to assist residents in maintaining their personal potential both physically, socially, and mentally.
This schedule includes;
- Casual / on call
- Day/evening shift
- Weekends as needed
Ebenezer Integrated Care & Rehab (EICR) serves seniors with long-term, transitional, and dementia senior care needs in the heart of downtown St. Paul. As part of Fairview's Community Health and Wellness Hub, EICR is committed to delivering innovative, collaborative care. The Fairview Community Health and Wellness Hub opened in 2022 to deliver a variety of services to the community—from primary and mental health care to enrichment options for seniors, food access programs, and community gathering spaces. The Hub brings Fairview services together with local organizations—including Minnesota Community Care and Sanneh Foundation—to make it easier for people to access what they need to be well.
Responsibilities
- Assists with leisure programs and activities:
- Leads social events and activity programs.
- Communicates and coordinates life enrichment programs with all departments.
- Gathers and transports residents for programs and activities
- Assists other departents with special events and family functions
- Documents as required
- Offers suggestions and ideas to improve the events program to Life Enrichment Director
- Assists in meeting the psychosocial needs of residents:
- Encourages resident participation.
- Reports change in resident attitude, mood, or physical status to appropriate staff.
- Promotes resident independence by offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
- Assists residents in developing relationships and effectively socializing
- Assists Life Enrichment Coodinators in maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations regarding medical record documentation and participation
- Assists in completing MDS, Assessments, Care Plans, and Progress notes for Life Enrichment
- Completes and updates participation records
- Gathers information from other team members as it relates to residents' needs
- Drives compnay bus for resident outings:
- Reviews and completes Vehile Requirements - Transporting Residents Checklist prior to each resident outing
- Maintains a log transportation services and tasks performed throughout the driving period
- Other duties as assigned and directed
Required Qualifications
- less than 1 year experience
- Drivers License Current Driver's License in good standing required if the employee will be driving the company van/bus. Not required if the employee will not be driving company vehicle.
- Must be insurable under the employer’s/communities Auto Insurance Coverage (if employee will be driving company van/bus)
- MN Only if employee will be driving company van/bus: Medical Examiner’s Certificate performed by a medical examiner listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners under subpart D of part 390 of this chapter indicating they are physically capable of driving a CMV.
Preferred Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma
- 1 year experience
