The Housekeeping position provides a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
This Housekeeping services schedule includes;
- Casual / On Call
- Minimum requirement of 3 shifts per month
Responsibilities
- Cleans resident and common areas of the community as assigned.
- Performs thorough cleaning of all assigned areas, including vacuuming carpets, sweeping and mopping hard floor surfaces, dusting and/or damp wiping surfaces, sanitizes bathrooms, cleans all glass windows/mirrors.
- Prioritizes tasks and completes within allotted time.
- Assists in cleaning emergency spills as needed.
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
- Follows cleaning schedule and instructions regarding specifications of resident’s individualized housekeeping needs.
- Performs job duties safely, using correct body mechanics and personal protective equipment.
- Safely mixes chemicals according to instructions provided by the manufacturer
- Consistently follows safe body mechanics
- Demonstrates precautionary work practices for the safety of others in the work areas, such as electric cords, wet floor signs, etc.
- Completes all OSHA training modules in a timely manner.
- Maintains cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Maintains housekeeping cart and storage area on daily basis.
- Safeguards others’ well-being by keeping chemicals and other hazardous materials locked when not in active use.
- Communicates supplies that need to be re-stocked.
- Communicates need for equipment repairs.
- Adheres to all Lockout/Tagout requirements per policy.
- Assists with light maintenance tasks as needed.
- Participates actively in team meetings, reports on current state in the Community, providing feedback on housekeeping-related items as they arise.
Required Qualifications
- less than 1 year of experience
- Ability to utilize software programs in order to complete work functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 to 3 years of experience
- Experience utilizing software programs such as Educare or TELS in order to complete necessary job functions
