Culinary Assistant

We are looking for a Culinary Assistant to join our team at Nine Mile! This position is responsible for dining room meal service to our senior age residents and maintaining supplies in the kitchenettes for our Assisted Living Community in Bloomington, MN. This nutrition services schedule includes;

• 16 hours every two weeks
• Part time, Day/Early Evening shifts
• Includes every other weekend & holiday rotation
• Partial Benefit Eligible

Responsibilities:

• Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting:
• Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
• Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs.
• Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
• Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
• Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up.
• Follows proper work flow to stay on task.
• Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service.
• Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift.
• Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction:
• Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
• Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
• Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

• less than 1 year experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• 1 year experience
