What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef/ Cook position at Ebenezer?
We are looking for a part-time Chef/Cook at our Jones-Harrison Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing Community! This role is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care. This culinary position will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our senior residents in our assisted living community in Minneapolis, MN. This rewarding and stable culinary services schedule for our Skilled nusing facility includes;
- 16 hours every two weeks
- Day/Evening shift
- Every other weekend with an opportunity to pick up shifts and holiday rotation

Ensuring that meals are served and presented in accordance with applicable regulations and customer expectations
Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes
Handles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards.
Ensure timely production and meal service is provided to residents
Set up line service
Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use
Assists with special events
Assists Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff
Required:
- ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date
- Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications
- Must have good problem solving and time management skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
Preferred:
- Vocational/technical training/education/degree
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- High volume cooking experience in a similar environment
- Scratch cooking experience
