Ebenezer United Methodist Church is seeking a kind, dependable, and highly organized Administrative Assistant to serve as the welcoming face of our church office and a central part of our communication efforts. This person will often be the first voice on the phone and the first person to greet visitors, while also ensuring that information is communicated clearly and consistently throughout our congregation and community. The role includes preparing weekly worship materials, managing digital and email communications, and supporting the daily operations that help our ministries thrive.

Position Details
- Part-time salaried position averaging 20 to 25 hours per week
- On-site Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Reports directly to the Senior Pastor
Compensation:
$21,000–$27,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
Primary Responsibilities:
Hospitality and Front Office
- Serve as the primary point of contact for phone calls, emails, and in-person visitors
- Maintain a welcoming and well-organized office environment
- Assist members, guests, and community partners with clarity and kindness
Worship and Weekly Communications
- Prepare weekly bulletins and worship slides using Microsoft Publisher, Canva, and PowerPoint
- Assist with materials for funerals, weddings, and special services
- Create and distribute the weekly Constant Contact newsletter
Digital Communication
- Maintain and update the church website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel
- Help strengthen the clarity, consistency, and reach of church-wide communication over time
Administration and Organization
- Maintain the church calendar
- Manage the church database in Realm, including attendance and reporting
- Prepare documentation for District and Conference requirements
- Order and monitor office and facility supplies
- Coordinate routine office equipment needs
Event and Ministry Support
- Provide administrative support for worship services, holidays, weddings, funerals, and church events
- Assign weekly tasks to the Office Assistant and submit timecards
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of administrative or office management experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with accuracy and timeliness
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint), Canva, and database systems
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must pass a background check prior to employment
