Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repairing and maintaining various types of small engines from chainsaws to mowers. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. The Mechanic must be self-motivated, able to keep accurate billing records, and interact well with customers.
Duties
- Take in equipment for repair
- Diagnose equipment issues
- Perform machine and/or engine repairs and adjustments
- Test and verify correct operations of all repairs
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers
- Communicate with coworkers to ensure all jobs are done in a timely manner
- Complete on-the-road service for customers
- Set up new equipment and prep for sale
- Inspect and maintain rental equipment
- Occasional welding and fabrication
- Work with service manager to give quotes on trade-ins
- Track parts and labor, and create own bills in the POS system
- Transporting new and used units to customer's homes for delivery

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role with small engines.
- Able to operate machinery safely and effectively.
- Proficient in using power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
- 18 years of age or older
- Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
- Able to read and interpret schematics
- Experience with mechanical and electrical systems (2 years preferred)
