What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Barista position at ebb & bloom cafe?
ebb & bloom cafe is a new neighborhood cafe opening soon in Astoria. We are built around good food, honest coffee, and real community connection. We're looking for a Lead Barista who loves what they do, thrives behind the bar, and genuinely enjoys connecting with the people they serve.
This is a full time role at the heart of everything we do and a real opportunity to help shape the culture of a brand new cafe from day one.
What You'll Do:
Craft espresso based drinks and specialty coffee and tea with consistency and care
Serve beer and wine in a welcoming, responsible manner
Create genuine connections with guests regulars will be the backbone of this business
Work efficiently during busy rushes without sacrificing quality or hospitality
Help train and mentor junior staff as the team grows
Maintain a clean, organized, and well stocked bar at all times
What We're Looking For:
2 years of barista experience with strong espresso skills and a passion for quality coffee
A natural hospitality instinct you remember names, you make people feel welcome
Ability to move quickly and stay composed during a rush
A team player who is excited to help build and train a great team
NYC Food Handler Certificate required (or willingness to obtain before start date)
Beer and wine service experience a plus
