This position is responsible for all functions of materials management and procurement processes for MCB business within RWD. Ensuring that all customer demand is properly translated into production and purchasing requirements while maintaining optimal inventory levels at our operation. Manages resources to ensure on time delivery to customers and to provide efficient and effective production plans and requirements to operations and direct/indirect suppliers. Is expected to develop direct reports on the use of various business systems, expanding functional competencies, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Manages and directs materials planning personnel a optimal balance between inventory, delivery and costs. - Manage and oversee the procurement of all goods, supplies, and services to support the production cycle time requirements of the plant. Lead the SIOP process for the plant and maintain continuous knowledge of demand, capacity, and inventory to achieve OTD, inventory, and productivity goals. Drive EBS excellence thru MMA and OpA assessment Build Organizational Capability through development plans, mentoring, driving accountability, cross training & succession planning. Responsible for managing and/or supporting supplier negotiations for direct & indirect material. Align with Electrical Sector strategy to plan, manage and executing inventory strategy (PFEP, kanban, ROP, etc). Ensure site adheres to Supply Chain Policies and Corporate procedures and programs. Participate in development of plant strategic plans and align departmental goals. Establishes and maintains procedures for the department. Develops and controls production schedules and inventory levels based on sales forecasts and other commitments in order to balance production with customer requirements. DDetermines materials requirements needed to meet production schedules, inventory levels, and shipment demands to achieve on-time production and inventory management requirements. Analyzes and evaluates inventory and delivery problems and recommends and/or implements solutions to optimize inventory levels and manufacturing schedule. Arranges for the sale of scrap, obsolete, surplus materials and by-products in order to minimize E&O. Works cross-functionally to support new product introductions and transitions to ensure on timely and cost-effective changes. Collaborates with Divisional SCM, sourcing to drive down total cost of ownership Collaborates with site to strengthen Business Continuity Management plan
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineer, Business or related areas. Preferable a Master Degree or MBA. Language capabilities: Bilingual (English/ Spanish)
- Minimum 7 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimun 5 years experience of personal supervising
- Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic.
- Thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, shipping/receiving.
- Preferable: APICS Certification
- Thorough knowledge of purchasing techniques and practices, including procedures associated with sourcing internationally.
- Detailed knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management
