Sr Product Mechanical Engineer

Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power Solutions division is currently seeking a Sr Product Mechanical Engineer to join our tea in Raleigh, NC.

This position will be a hybrid office (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) role as long as you live within 50 miles of our Raleigh, NC facility

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year.

What You’ll Do

• Develop engineering drawings and BOM based on specifications from customer, sales, or marketing
• Prepare mechanical engineering drawings and BOM for shop personnel to assemble power protection equipment and accessory products
• Ensure all engineering work is accurate and of high quality while meeting customer commitments and promised ship dates
• Establish an understanding of front-end engineering, production, and production testing process flow to support engineering process and quality improvements
• Provide technical support for customers, engineering, and plant personnel
• Maintain good working relationships with customers, distributors, Eaton sales personnel and internal plant personnel in support of a quality customer service effort
• Mechanical & electrical design using Creo / ProE, particularly with power protection or power distribution products
  
  
  

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum three (3) years experience in a mechanical engineering role
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering from an accredited institution
• Design and development of industrial equipment in the Electro-mechanical field.
• Knowledge of basic electricity
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD software (Creo/ProE preferred)
• Understanding of design evaluation techniques such as reliability analysis, statistical tolerance stack-up, Failure Mode and Effect analysis (FMEA), etc.
• Ability to read and understand Drawings, Specifications, and Requirements.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Self-motivated and goal oriented individual
• Collaborative orientation, the ability to succeed in a highly team oriented, global, and diverse environment
