Job Responsibilities
Platform Architecture and Strategy:
- Develop and maintain the overall architecture and roadmap for SharePoint across M365 and SharePoint Server 2019, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT strategy.
- Advise on migration strategies between on-premises and cloud environments, including hybrid architectures.
- Conduct platform assessments to identify opportunities for modernization, automation, and process improvements.
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performing SharePoint solutions, including intranets, extranets, document management, workflow automation.
- Evaluate, design, and implement Microsoft CoPilot capabilities within SharePoint and M365 environments to enhance user productivity, automate routine tasks, and drive adoption of AI-powered features.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify high-value use cases for CoPilot and ensure responsible deployment in line with organizational policies.
- Architect integrations between SharePoint platforms and Microsoft Azure services to extend solution capabilities, enable advanced automation, and support scalable, cloud-native applications.
- Lead the implementation of complex solutions, including integrations with other M365 services (Teams, Power Platform, OneDrive), third-party tools, and legacy systems.
- Architect and support solutions that leverage Microsoft Viva modules (Connections, Insights, Topics, Learning) to enhance employee experience, knowledge management, and organizational communication.
- Define standards and best practices for site collection architecture, information architecture, metadata, and taxonomy.
- Establish and enforce governance policies for content management, access control, lifecycle management, and retention.
- Work closely with the security team to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements, including data privacy and protection.
- Monitor and manage platform performance, availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ensure compliance with requirements for handling controlled data, including GCCH (Government Community Cloud High), ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), and CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information).
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and training to IT staff and power users.
- Develop and deliver documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay current with Microsoft’s SharePoint and M365 roadmap, evaluating new features and recommending adoption where appropriate.
- Advocate for process automation, low-code/no-code solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate), and modern collaboration practices."
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years experience leading / Architecting large corporation IT projects with global teams.
- 3 years with SharePoint Online (M365)
- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture is essential, as the organization continues to modernize its platforms and adopt cloud-native technologies.
- Must currently reside within 50 miles of posted locations(s). Relocation is not available for this role.

- Must be able to work without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Preferred MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MBA.
- Previous experience with SharePoint Server 2019 (or earlier versions).
- M365 ecosystem (Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, Azure AD, Exchange Online) and hybrid identity solutions.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), REST APIs, and integration with external systems.
- Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools.
- Familiarity with software development processes and methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. This position will often work with other business analysts, project managers and business teams on a regular basis.
- Good team-oriented interpersonal skills. Assists with facilitation sessions, may require some coaching on how to lead and influence others, and to effectively interface and work with a wide variety of people.
- Good team player, self-motivated and committed with an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
