What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respiratory Therapist position at EATON RAPIDS MEDICAL CENTER?
Demonstrates competency and professionalism in providing safe, individualized, high-quality cardiopulmonary services.
Uses sound clinical judgment when assessing patients and making treatment decisions. Communicates effectively with providers, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team and identifies opportunities to improve patient care.
Prioritizes assignments appropriately, completes procedures accurately and efficiently, and takes initiative to perform additional departmental, clerical, safety, and security-related responsibilities.
Completes required education, in-services, and competency assessments within established timeframes. Maintains current cardiopulmonary knowledge by participating in department meetings and educational opportunities and reviewing relevant professional resources.
Accurately and promptly completes patient care documentation, departmental billing, logs, reports, and other required records. Reviews departmental communications, policies, procedures, and manager correspondence in a timely manner.
Ensures patient care equipment is clean, properly disinfected, maintained, and in safe working condition. Maintains clean and orderly patient care and departmental areas and follows all infection prevention, departmental, and organizational policies and procedures.
Demonstrates dependable attendance and punctuality and maintains flexibility in meeting departmental scheduling and staffing needs.
Provides clear cardiopulmonary education to patients and families and shares knowledge with other members of the healthcare team as appropriate. Serves as a knowledgeable and professional cardiopulmonary resource.
Demonstrates proficiency in MEDITECH and other electronic systems and programs required for the position.
Performs other duties as assigned and within the scope of the position.
