Duties
- Fabricate, weld, and assemble metal components using various welding techniques
- Perform comprehensive repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes efficiently.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspensions, air brakes, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and other vehicle components.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for disassembly, repair, alignment, and assembly of machinery parts.
- Perform tire service, heavy lifting tasks safely with appropriate equipment, and ensure proper vehicle maintenance practices are followed.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a mechanic or service technician in a dealership or heavy equipment environment.
- Strong background in fabrication and welding with familiarity in working with schematics for complex machinery.
- Knowledge of automotive repair including brake repair, transmission work, electrical diagnostics, and suspension systems.
- Familiarity with diesel engine repair techniques and troubleshooting of industrial equipment.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately to facilitate precise repairs.
