Senior Design Electrical Engineer

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Senior Design Electrical Engineer. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. ## What you’ll do: PRIMARY FUNCTION: Eaton Aerospace in Glenolden, PA has an opening for a Senior Design Electrical Engineer for lubrication system condition monitoring and fluid accessories product design and evaluation. The primary function of the position is design work and project engineering support for both sustaining products and new product development. The design engineering position will primarily focus on Analog/Digital circuitry product design layout, modeling, and drawing creation using CAD, Spice and/or Altium. 25% sustaining, 50% NPI/NPD.. 20% R/D. 10-20 watts or less .. 10 -28 VDC. Design decisions will be substantiated with appropriate analysis, trade studies, and legacy product similarities. Phase-Gate product development strategies are utilized for the concept development, design, validation, production, and delivery stages of new product implementation. They will support product design activities of mechanical and electrical product lines / focus areas by providing sustaining product support, pursuing alternative design approaches and processes when needed, while taking market trends and best practices into account. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: A. Provides engineering solutions that meet customer performance requirements, interface details, reliability, cost and schedule requirements. Works with customers to define explicit non-ambiguous requirements. Provides technical direction for assigned projects from initial concept phase to product delivery. B. Understands mechanical, electric-mechanical systems and robust design methods. Responsible for concept layout, modeling, detailing, release and change management of drawings in configuration control system. Ensures compliance to quality system requirements. C. Works with other Eaton teams to perform structural static and dynamic analyses, thermal and fluid dynamics analyses, and other engineering analysis methods to verify compliance. D. Manages and releases drawings, models and documentation through Eaton’s product lifecycle management system. E. Develops plans for design verification and validation testing for design compliance. Provides support in the testing environment. F. Implements product improvement and cost reduction initiatives by evaluating engineering change requests. G. Supports sales and marketing in generation of proposals and responses to customer inquiries H. Designs, builds, and tests engineering prototypes for proposals and internal research and development projects. ## Qualifications: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering . • Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in digital/analog electrical design, CAD modeling, drawing creation. • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: \- Aerospace / Automotive / Electronics/ Medical industry experience preferred.. \- Experience with manufacturing processes, product testing, magnetic properties and thermal analysis preferred. \- Experience using Spice and/or Altium.
