Materials Attendant - 1st Shift

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Materials Attendant - 1st Shift. The hourly rate for this position is 20.11 per hour. Core Hours are 6 AM - 2:20 PM Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. ## What you’ll do: Eaton South Bend is searching for a Materials Attendant Specialist –to join our team. Materials Attendants are responsible for the packing, visually inspecting, and shipping product for and to South Bend’s customers. These professionals play very integral part in being South Bends last line of defense for product quality. Essential Functions: • Setup and operate traditional, precision and BCT cleaners. • Move material using forklifts. • Schedule, load and unload trucks. • Sample weigh parts as required. • Clean and organize area as required. • Determine acceptable quality by using visual inspection techniques and precision equipment. • Operate the shot peen equipment and package parts for shipment. • Perform all necessary PMs. • Able to perform basic math functions • Maintain and control inventory. Perform computer inventory transactions. ## Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (within 50 miles) of South Bend, IN will be considered for this position. • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship • Ability to work in a team environment. ## Additional Information: Physical Demands: • Ability to frequently move and/or lift forgings and dies weighing from 3-36lbs. • Ability to stand or walk the entire shift. • Ability to hear and talk to other teammates while working. • Ability to visually detect quality defects during production. Environmental Conditions: • Ability to tolerate extreme temperature changes, wetness and/or humidity during production operations • Ability to tolerate noise at a time weighted average of 97 decibels and occasional vibration due to use of tools and equipment. • Ability to tolerate fumes from forge press, forklifts, Tennant Sweeper, welding and cutting operations • Ability to tolerate occasional graphite/water mist from forging operation We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
