What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator - 1st Shift position at Eaton and Careers?
Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Machine Operator - 1st Shift. The core hours of the position are 6:30am to 2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $19.05 per hour.

What you’ll do:
- Perform a variety of machining operations using single or multi-spindle drill press and/or tapping machines on various castings and parts.
- Duties include positioning parts into chucks, fixtures, or loading machines; moving selector levers for prescribed speeds; initiating machine cycle, removing machined part and check work.
- Work involves highly repetitive machine operations such as drilling, milling, tapping, reaming, boring, facing, threading, counterboring, etc.
- Check work with fixed gauges at prescribed intervals.
- Detect and report faulty machine operations, defective material, and unusual cases to proper supervision.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow prescribed or standard safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) months minimum working in a manufacturing environment.
- No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographic area (50 miles) of Syracuse, NY will be considered for this position.
