What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Grinder- 2nd Shift position at Eaton and Careers?
Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Industrial Grinder- 2nd Shift. The core hours are Monday - Thursday 2:30pm to 11:00pm and Friday 12:30pm to 9:00pm. The hourly rate for this position is $20.21/hour $1.20/hour shift differential per hour.
What you’ll do:
- Grind and polish metal.
- Use spot welding equipment, welds appropriate parts together based on specifications.
- Run samples and check product quality against prints.
- Adjust spot welder to properly weld material based on thickness and finish.
- Performs all quality checks, fill out daily activity reports, and enter time recording in SAP.
- Changes welding tips as necessary.
- Performs 5S & Continuous Improvement activities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Sherman, TX will be considered

Preferred Qualifications:
- Spot-welding experience
- Basic computer skills
Position Criteria:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. alone occasionally to frequently, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance occasionally by stooping, reaching, bending.
- Ability to read blueprints and use simple measuring tools.
- Ability to follow directions, work independently and close attention to detail.
- Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product.
- Ability to reach, grasp and manipulate.
- Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays and up to 12 hours in a shift, as needed by the business.
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (eight to twelve hours) and perform repetitious tasks.
