Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Material Handler - Afternoon Shift.
The range for this position is $20.58 - 22.69 per hour with pay increases scheduled at 6 months and 1 year of service. The core hours for this role are 3:00pm - 11:30pm.

Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
What you’ll do:
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to run material routes, ensuring accurate and timely flow of materials for Clutch and Manufacturing departments, including loading and unloading trucks.
- Verify materials and quantities, maintain 100% transaction accuracy under time constraints, and escalate inventory discrepancies or abnormal conditions to supervision.
- Use fork truck communication and inventory systems (FCS, Oracle, WMS) to support manufacturing operations and inventory accuracy; submit help desk tickets as needed.
- Support changeover activities by coordinating with Operators and Leads and staging materials in advance of scheduled changeovers.
- Complete forklift safety audits at the start of each shift, maintain accurate equipment records, and safely operate lifting aids and overhead hoists to move materials.
- Work as a team member to meet safety, quality, productivity, departmental, and plant objectives while supporting continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain work area housekeeping and support department-wide 5S activities; perform all work in compliance with standard work, company policies, and Eaton Quality systems (QS, ISO 9000, TS 16949, CQI‑9) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14000). Cross-train to provide coverage for peer absences (including service packer duties), assist with on-the-job training for new employees, and work scheduled overtime, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience operating a forklift or other powered industrial vehicles.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Eaton does not provide employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position (including CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, H‑1B, O‑1, E‑3, TN, or related statuses). No relocation assistance is available; candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of the Kings Mountain, NC facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Excel and logistics systems such as Oracle, FCS, WMS, Premium Freight databases, UPS website, and Outlook.
- Forklift certification. Prior experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
Position Criteria
- Ability to successfully pass the required forklift examination (after hire).
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Windows‑based software and the ability to learn and use inventory, communication, and transaction systems as required.
- Ability to learn new processes and adapt to changing operational needs. Demonstrated reliability, attendance, and dependability in a production environment.
Physical Requirement:
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis with or without accomodation
